Why Breaking 5?

It’s about believing that you CAN have wild and crazy dreams. And that ALL OF US should be going after those things in life we sometimes feel is IMPOSSIBLE. It’s about understanding we only have ONE LIFE and we better be showing up as OUR BEST with the COURAGE to DREAM EVERY DAMN DAY. ⁣

Breaking 5 is a goal of mine. It’s honestly a pretty RIDICULOUS GOAL of mine, one of those goals you set that you really don’t know if it’s possible but you’re CRAZY enough to go for it anyways. ⁣

Breaking 5 is breaking 5 minutes in the MILE. A goal I started dreaming up just about a year ago. The WHAT IFS? And not wanting to live with the WHAT IFS AND REGRET OF NOT REALLY GOING AFTER MY CRAZIEST GOALS is what sparked this goal of mine.⁣

t’s a goal I’ve only told a few people. It’s a goal that wouldn’t seem very likely based off my first season back at it..... after 9 years off of any SERIOUS TRAINING.... at age 30. (Oh yeah that SEASON I didn’t even share ANYWHERE here on SOCIAL MEDIA even though I’m clearly pretty active in sharing my running journey here. Maybe more on that later...)⁣

But it’s not really about MY GOAL at all. It’s not really about the time. It’s about having a PLACE to share the JOURNEYS of other inspiring runners throughout the world and THOSE who have helped them get there and have THEIR BREAKING 5 MOMENT.⁣

And REALLY it’s not about RUNNING EITHER. ⁣
