Before I started working with Kristen, I had just started my mobile physical therapy practice working with runners. I also had just started getting back into running consistently and was using the couch to 5k app for my training. I knew I wanted to work with runners since I have been one in the past and have grown up in the running community; however, I had never worked with a running coach before and I myself was unsure of how to coach runners.
I decided to work with Kristen because of her first hand experience of being a runner; coaching runners and rehabbing injured runners. Kristen knows the ins and outs of run training programs, including the different types of training and how to get an injured runner back to their running goals. She is very personable and listens and takes into account your goals, as well as where you are at in your journey of achieving your goals, both in your business and personal lives.
Kristen is knowledgeable in run coaching and physical therapy specific to runners; she gives examples of run programs and strength programs that she has made for her clients to achieve PRs in various race distances and to return to running after injury.
The most valuable part of the course was all the resources that we received, from the run program examples, the strength training plans, my own run training program to help me run my first 5k without stopping (in many, many years), the run coaching books, the lifetime access to her online program specifically for runners, the unlimited access to Kristen via messenger and the coaching calls.
I am so happy that I took this course, not only do I now feel confident enough to coach runners, but I now have clients of my own that I coach. I now have a better understanding of specific strength training, stretches and warm-ups for runners, as well as different types of training (interval, tempo, easy runs, etc.) and when and how to use them.
I have also found a new love for running, I ran my first 5k in November (since 2012), and I plan on running many more!
